On Oct. 31st (Halloween), an injured male black DSH kitten came in. A Good Samaritan saw him being hit by a car, TWICE. This happened on Tennessee St and Capital Circle, near Walmart. The kitten had complete degloving of the skin over his mandible (the entire lower jaw bone was exposed) and a broken lower jaw. He had soft tissue injury of his right front leg and harsh lung sounds, likely from pulmonary contusions (bruising within the lungs). Amazingly, no bones were broken. We named him Thackery Binx, from everyone’s favorite Halloween movie (Hocus Pocus).  Dr. Brumfield at Northwood Animal Hospital performed surgery to fix his lower jaw and Thackery was started on pain medication and antibiotics.  Thankfully, he healed up in no time!  You would never know he even had surgery just looking at him today! He has been neutered, microchipped and is progressing through his kitten vaccines.  He just needs his forever home now, come visit him today!

*Note: Thackery’s neck and arms were shaved recently to facilitate sterile catheter placement.  That fur will grow back soon and he will be even more beautiful!
