On February 13, a healthy 6 year old chihuahua was relinquished through no fault of her own to Southwood Animal Hospital. The owner, an elderly woman, broke her hip and had to enter rehab and could no longer care for her. Her name is Sugar, Shug for short. Sugar came in with periodontal disease, no heartworm prevention and was overweight. She has had a her teeth cleaned (a few had to be extracted), is on monthly heartworm and is working on her weight. Shug is very social with people, gets along with cats and other dogs. She will thrive in a home that is quiet with people to love and cuddle.  This sweet girl is ready for her furever family.
