On November 29th, 2025 an injured black and white DSH male kitten (est DOB 10-19-25)  was brought to Northwood on emergency.  He was witnessed being hit by a car on Thomasville Rd, near South Ride/Food Glorious Food.  The Good Samaritan scooped him up and brought him to Northwood.

They were not in the market for a new kitten, especially an injured one, and relinquished him to Northwood Animal Hospital where he was put into CARE.

He sustained a severe fracture of his left rear leg-the distal part of this femur had broken off the rest of the bone-the bone segments were nowhere near touching anymore.  The fracture involved his growth plate.  The fracture was too severe to heal even with surgery so the decision was made to amputate the left rear leg.  He had that surgery on December 5th.

Skeeter is adapting to being a 3 legged kitten quite well.

He is FeLV/FIV negative, has been neutered and microchipped.  He is progressing through his kitten vaccines (not quite done yet).

If you are willing to care for a special needs kitten that doesn’t know he is special needs,  please consider him.
