On October 24th an injured stray (mildly feral) kitten was brought to Northwood. The 3 month old female DSH Tortoiseshell kitten has a
severe wound involving the entire circumference of her right rear leg with exposed bone and loss of muscle tissue. This kitten (we named
Samantha, est. DOB 7-21-18) needed amputation of the right rear leg as it could not be saved. She had that surgery Oct. 26th. She was also treated for ear mites and intestinal roundworms. With time and attention she slowly came out of her shell. She has been spayed, micro-chipped and is progressing through her kitten vaccines.
