On 10-31-19 1 1⁄2 year old male neutered grey and white DSH presented to Southwood Animal Hospital with urethral obstruction. He needed emergency surgery to relieve the blockage in his penis so he could urinate. The owners could not manage his care so
they relinquished him to Southwood. Ouija had the emergency procedure, but afterwards it was noted that there was free fluid (urine) in his abdomen indicating a rupture of either his bladder or urethral had occurred. Ouija was hospitalized at Northwood for monitoring with the urinary catheter in place. He had a to have penile urethrostomy surgery to prevent him from obstructing again. Ouija is doing well and is now ready to be adopted.
