Ms. B is a 3 legged (left front leg previously amputated) brown pitbull, spayed female. Her estimated birthdate is Dec. 27, 2019.   She originally came to Northwood Animal Hospital October 27, 2020.  She had been running/playing in backyard when she fell in a hole, going full speed.  She immediately came up lame in the left front leg.  X Rays showed a severe luxation and fracture of her left elbow.  The owner could not manage surgery so she was relinquished.  We named her Ms. B. Surgery was attempted to reduce the luxation and repair the leg, but was unsuccessful so amputation was performed.  Ms. B was soon adopted.  We received a call from Animal Aid on November 8th, 2021, reporting that a 3 legged dog was found in their exercise yard with a box of food and belongings.  Microchip scan traced her to being our former CARE pet, Ms. B.  The person who had adopted her just had a baby and could not care for Ms. B anymore so she had given her to a friend, who evidently also could not care for her, thus the abandonment.  Ms. B was healthy on physical exam and tested negative for heartworms, intestinal parasites and her vaccines are current.  She was in great body condition at 43lb, the most well muscled 3 legged dog we had seen in awhile.  She is such an affectionate dog.  Ms. B is currently residing at Southwood, hoping to find her forever home.
