On February 28, 2023, one of Northwood’s overnight technicians discovered an injured dog in our parking lot. Likely he was “dumped” by the original owner? He was very thin, infested with fleas and ticks, and was barely using his right rear leg. X Rays showed the ball of his right femur was fractured-likely he had been hit by a car? He had surgery to remove the broken femoral head, a surgery called femoral head ostectomy. After some physical therapy, he walks like nothing happened. He was treated for internal and external parasites, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. We named him Mashed Potato. We guess he is a Labrador Retriever/Pitbull mix, estimated date of birth June 10, 2022. He is a striking black with a little white on his chest. He is just the sweetest boy. While living at Northwood, he had donated blood several times to save the lives of other pets. Now it is his turn to be saved. Please consider adopting our Mashed Potato!
