On March 23rd a 1 day old kitten was brought to Northwood. She was found on Hays and Magnolia Dr near the Krispy Kreme. Her eyes and ears were not open and she had a dry umbilical cord still attached. She was estimated to be 9 weeks old. We named her Margarita. She is a DSH brown tabby. Margarita had a severe injury to her left hock. It appeared that something had been wrapped around the joint, causing a luxation or fracture. She was hand raised by a Northwood technician and treated for possible infection. We wanted to see how she did before considering surgical intervention, especially with her being so young. Margarita healed well. She uses her left rear leg fine-no surgery was needed. Once she is spayed she will be made available for adoption.
