On July 1st a stray dog was brought into Northwood with a history of being found in the road, likely after being hit by a car.  The Good Samaritan signed her over to Northwood for treatment. The dog is a brindle female pit bull mix, estimated to be 1 year old. We named her Liberty. She had an open fracture/luxation of the right elbow with badly damaged chunks of muscle hanging out of the wound.  The infection and injury was bad so the decision was made to amputate the leg. Liberty has healed, has been spayed and brought up to date on vaccines.  She is heartworm negative. She gets along well with other dogs and would be a great addition to your home if you would welcome a special needs, 3 legged dog into your heart.
