On June 29th a female orange tabby, est to be 3 days old (DOB 6-26-18), was brought to Northwood as a stray. She was found on Ruthenia Rd. Her left front leg was very swollen with obvious indentation circumferentially around the foreleg. A string was found
wrapped around the leg here. The kitten was anesthetized to dig the string out from around her leg before it did any further damage to the blood supply. No fracture was found, just soft tissue injury. So far the kitten’s leg is healing well and she is doing well with bottle feeding. She is being fostered by a Northwood tech. Her name is Gremlin. Gremlin’s spay was witnessed about about 10 middle school students from Fairview, part of the FSU School of Medicine Sstride program.
