Meet Fritz! Fritz is an adorable dachshund of about 5 years of age – just look at those ears! He joined CARE in October because he was unable to walk on his back legs. Dachshunds are notorious for needing back surgery for slipped discs and Fritz was no exception. Thankfully, CARE was able to work with Capital Veterinary Specialists – Tallahassee to get him the back surgery he needed. However, CVS also discovered he also has a birth defect in his heart and needed surgery to correct it as well. Thankfully, Fritz is recovering well from both of these big surgeries and is ready to find his forever home! A word of caution though, Fritz does not get along well with other dogs. He will love you forever, but needs to be your only canine companion. Fritz absolutely loves people and will give you all the kisses you could possibly need – come see for yourself! He’s hanging out at Northwood Animal Hospital until is forever family finds him.
