On June 12th an injured kitten was rushed to Northwood. A gentleman on his lunch break witnessed the kitten being hit by a car. He stopped, scooped him up, and brought him to us. He originally planned on keeping the kitten but once learned of severity of his injuries and cost to treat, he elected to relinquish to Northwood. The kitten was about 9 weeks old (DOB 4-13- 20). We named him Frank. X-rays showed a badly displaced fracture of his the distal femur of the right rear leg. Frank was shocky and breathing heavy so we first  addressed his shock, oxygen needs and pain control. The plan was to surgically repair the fracture but it was decided that the fracture was not easily repairable so amputation of the right rear leg was performed instead. He was neutered at the same time. Frank is proceeding through his kitten vaccines and is ready for adoption. Do you have room in your heart and home for a 3-legged kitten?
