On March 26th, 2022 an injured 5 month old kitten was brought to Northwood Animal Hospital on emergency. They had adopted a few months prior from Smitten with Kittens. That night, the owners heard a loud crash and went to investigate what had happened. The kitten was found hiding. When they got him out he was bleeding from the mouth and not using his right rear leg. On exam a palpable fracture was found of the right rear leg, just above his knee. X Ray confirmed a distal femur fracture. The fracture was so far down on the bone that repair was going to be challenging. The owners elected to relinquish the kitten as they were not up for a major surgery like that. We named the kitten Edward. He is a black kitten with white spot on chest, Male neutered, estimated DOB 10-10-2020. Edward has healed well from his surgery and is getting around very well as a 3 legged cat. We have completed his kitten vaccines and now he just needs a new home.
