On April 18th a stray kitten was brought to Northwood. The cute little orange tabby was found on Alabama and Old Bainbridge roads near Griffin Middle School. He was sneezing, had nasal discharge and his right eye was a mess! He had sustained either a serious injury or had such a bad infection of the eye that the result was a severe corneal ulcer. Likely the eye was damaged by an infection related to the upper respiratory tract infection he had. The URI signs resolved, but his right eye healed with a pretty obvious scar occluding the bottom half of his right eye. His name is now Cotton Eye Joe. He is a male orange tabby with estimated birthdate of 3-5-19. He can still see, and his eye does not bother him a bit. Cotton Eye Joe has tested neg for FeLV/FIV, is progressing through his kitten vaccines, is micro-chipped and neutered. His impaired vision does not phase him a bit. He’s a fun and active kitten looking for his forever family!
