On Nov. 30th Northwood got a call from Tallahassee Leon County Animal Shelter. They had a person there with her 8 month old German Wirehaired Pointer (DOB 03-30-20). He was very ill, diagnosed with Parvo at the shelter. The owner had hoped to relinquish him to the shelter for treatment but since it was Parvo and so infectious to other dogs, the shelter could only euthanize him. CARE stepped in and took over his care instead. We named him Archibald. Archie was hospitalized in isolation and started on IV fluids and meds. It took 1 week, but finally Archibald stopped vomiting, stools were more formed and h started to eat on his own. He is neutered, vaccinated and ready for adoption. Archie is very dramatic, but is a sweetheart.
