Alba is a 12 week old (DOB 7-8-21) female spayed grey and white Pitbull puppy that came to Northwood Animal Hospital Sept 8. She was critically ill with serious hookworm anemia. Her owner relinquished her to Northwood so she could receive the care she needed. Just as blood transfusion was commencing, Alba’s heart stopped. CPR was instituted immediately and her blood transfusion was given in bolus. Remarkably, we got her back! Alba recovered well, and is now a happy, healthy puppy. She is proceeding through her puppy vaccines, has been spayed and microchipped. And of course we took care of the hookworms that made her so sick in the first place. She just needs a home now.
