Portia came to CARE on Jan. 17, 2015 from an area shelter with horrific skin disease and parasites of all varieties. Her skin infection was due to two mites, known as demodex and sarcoptic mange. Additionally, she was diagnosed with heartworm disease, fleas, and a heavy intestinal parasite load. After some weeks of intense treatment, she completely recovered and was happily adopted. However, she was returned to the CARE program through no fault of her own in July 2016. Portia is a happy, healthy, house-trained, loving dog – she would love to join your forever family!
