On Oct. 12th, Summer birthed 6 puppies. When Summer and her 4 remaining pups arrived at Northwood Animal Hospital several days later, she was very ill, but fortunately her puppies were healthy. Summer’s uterus had ruptured, likely while giving birth. She was stabilized with intensive treatment, including several blood transfusions, before going to surgery. Summer has recovered very well from surgery and is not currently on any medications. Summer has cared for her pups as much as she was able and our friends at Northwood Animal Hospital have done the rest. Bruce is the largest of Summer’s puppies and loves to play! He is neutered, microchipped, and progressing though the puppy series of vaccines. This little puppy is ready to meet his forever family and celebrate the holidays with them!
