Name: Ion
Species: Feline
Estimated Birthday: 1-25-2013
Gender: Male
Ion joined the CARE family in November of 2013 due to a urinary tract obstruction. In Ions case, this was caused by a common complex called Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD), which is managed with a prescription diet and low-stress lifestyle. Ion did well after being un-obstructed and was adopted in May of 2014. He did great with his new family until they moved into a different apartment in September, at which point he began eliminating outside of the litter box. These owners were unable to care for Ion anymore and he was returned to CARE at the end of October 2014. Tests showed no sign of active FLUTD at that time; the inappropriate urination is likely a behavioral issue. Ion is a beautiful cat who loves to play, but will need to maintain a strict c/d prescription diet throughout life. Please give us a call today if you are interested in meeting Ion in person (850) 385-8181.
