Madame Caterpillar was a very ill female red and white short haired “Chihuahua” puppy when she entered the CARE Program at Northwood Animal Hospital on May 18, 2014. She was critically anemic and received a blood transfusion and treatment for parasites, both internal and external. She relapsed 3 days later, requiring a second blood transfusion, addition dewormings and iron supplementation. As she has grown older, she appears to be less Chihuahua and more a Beagle mix. Madame Caterpillar is now a playful pup who has finished her puppy vaccines, is spayed, microchipped, and ready for a new home!
