Zephyr was brought to Northwood Animal Hospital after being found limping and in respiratory distress by a Good Samaritan. He had a condition known as a diaphragmatic hernia. The thin muscle of his diaphragm had torn, allowing almost his entire intestinal tract to move through the hole into his chest cavity. Zephyr could not breathe. Emergency surgery was performed immediately by Dr. Schwerzel to pull is abdominal organs back into the abdominal cavity where they belonged, and repair the rent in his diaphragm. Zephyr has completely recovered from his surgery and is now one of the sweetest and most affectionate kittens you will ever meet! Come by and play with him today!
