On Dec. 6, 2016 a young stray kitten was brought to Northwood. He had been born to a stray momma near the Good Samaritan’s home (Ross Rd and Crawfordville Hwy.). She noticed that morning that he was having trouble using his right front leg. On exam, it was evident he suffered some sort of trauma has he was missing a toenail, the other toe was bloodied and there was swelling of the leg. Xrays did not show any fractures, but it did show a possible foreign body in his stomach. We named this little white and brown tabby mix male River. River’s leg healed, he passed the foreign body and underwent treatment for diarrhea. He seems to be all better now, is FeLV/FIV negative, has started on his kitten vaccines, is neutered and microchipped. Now all he needs is a loving home.
