On August 8, 2016 a very young chocolate Lab mix puppy (reported to be 3 weeks old) joined the CARE program at Northwood Animal Hospital. She was very ill with anemia (low red blood cell count), likely because of a severe intestinal parasite infestation. Leila received a blood transfusion and was started on dewormers. Within 2 days she was eating on her own. Leila is now happy, healthy, spayed, microchipped, progressing through her puppy vaccines and is ready to go home with you!
