On April 13, 2016 a litter of 2 kittens thought to be about 7 weeks old, were brought to NAH on emergency.  A silver SUV was witnessed throwing this litter of 3 out the window on Monroe street and driving off.  A Good Samaritan at the scene stopped to rescue these throw-away kittens.  The Good Sam kept one of the kittens that was not injured, but brought the other 2 in for emergency treatment. Porsche is a female brown tabby and did not appear to be injured.  Mercedes, a female grey tabby,  had either been hit by a car or sustained serious head trauma when she was tossed out the window. Mercedes also had a fracture of one of the bones in her right rear leg. Emergency treatment was instituted for Mercedes, however, her neurologic status declined to the point that the decision was made to euthanize her on April 15th.  Thankfully, Porsche continues to do well.  She tested negative for FeLV/FIV, is progressing through her kitten vaccines, is spayed and ready for her forever home.
