Lazarus is our miracle puppy. When he found CARE, he was in cardiac arrest (his heart had stopped beating). CPR was performed and Lazarus was revived. Diagnostics showed that he was critically anemic with free blood within his chest and abdomen. The most likely cause was an unknown coagulopathy. During a blood transfusion, Lazarus coded again. Resuscitation was instituted and he responded, again. Amazingly, after dying twice, Lazarus was like a new puppy the next day, eating, and barking. He was put on a course of Vitamin K to combat likely rat poisoning. Lazarus was adopted into a loving home after recovering from his coagulopathy. However, in June his owner lost his home and was no longer able to provide for Lazarus. So, through no fault of his own, Lazarus has rejoined CARE and is looking for somebody to love. Stop by Northwood Animal Hospital today to meet this little miracle!
