On Sept 12, 2026 an injured stray kitten was brought to Northwood Animal Hospital on emergency. She was a stray that had been hanging around the Good Samaritan’s home for a few months (Near Junior Museum and Airport, Caldwell and Roswell). Kitten had been missing for a day and when she found her again, she was not using her right rear leg well.
She had never taken her to the vet.
The kitten is a female Torbie (Tortishell/Tabby), estimated to be 5 months old (est. DOB 4-12-26).
Owner relinquished her to Northwood for the care she needed.
X rays showed fracture of her distal femur, involving the physis (the part of the bone that is still growing).
We named her Coral
Coral had surgery to pin the bones of right distal femur back together. She was also spayed and had a microchip placed at the same time. Coral has healed well. She has been dewormed, vaccinated and is ready for her forever home.
